I got some new makeup products for Christmas and after using them a few times to get a good feel for them I've decided to review them for you! The products I'm going to be reviewing are 'Benefit Gimme Brow', 'Benefit Roller Lash Mascara', 'Kat Von D Shade and Light palette' and MAC Lipstick in 'Cockney'.
There was a lot of hype around the Roller Lash mascara last year but I had fallen in love with Perversion mascara from Urban Decay so I didn't try it in the beginning. I know I'm late to the party but I now completely understand the hype around it! Roller Lash is one of the best mascaras I've tried in a while. The thin applicator is perfect for lengthening and separating the lashes and it also holds a curl perfectly. I love love love it!
I've been wanting to buy the Kat Von D Shade and Light palette since it was released but I couldn't find a stockist in Ireland or somewhere with reasonable priced postage online so I decided to wait a bit to get it. My mum travelled to Spain last month where they have Sephora so she picked it up for me for Christmas and I just wish I had gotten it sooner! This palette has the perfect highlight and contour shades. My two personal favourites and the ones I have been heading towards most are 'Lyric' for highlight and 'Subconscious' for contour.
I have been using Benefit's Gimme Brow as a substitute for my Urban Decay Tinted brown Gel and I have been really loving it. The applicator on it is a lot smaller than the one from Urban Decay which works better to get all the small eyebrow hairs you may miss with the bigger applicator. With benefit's you can be a lot more precise which I like. It keeps all the hairs in place perfectly and has just the right amount of tint for days you may want to do a more natural 'no makeup - makeup look' with a less dramatic/strong brow.
Last but not least I have been loving the MAC lipstick 'Cockney'. This shade is a medium red with a slight shimmer and glossy finish. As I have blonde hair red shades with bluey undertones work best with my light hair and pale skin. Used together with 'Essence' lipliner in the shade '14 - Femme Fatale' it makes the perfect red lip and stays for hours. The pay off is excellent.
If you would like a review on some other makeup products I got for Christmas let me know!
